Il est facile de se sentir dépassé par cette œuvre et c'est tout à fait normal : Bekëth Nexëhmü nous fait traverser le blizzard avec un mur de sons infranchissables ; le chant y est saturé, inhospitalier. De Svarta Riterna est à la fois mélancolique, glacial, grandiose : c'est un maelström de black metal atmosphérique qui fait valser onirisme et pur cauchemar. Swartadauþuz est le genre d'artiste capable, qui sur une simple démo, est capable de remettre à sa place tout le black metal moderne.

Découverte de Bekëth Nexëhmü — grâce à un certain graphiste qui partage pas mal de trucs (et que des bons trucs) sur Twitter — et... je n'étais pas préparé à un tel déluge. Swartadauþuz rassemble plusieurs démos composées entre 2006 et 2014 (avec quelques bonus), démos sculptées avec un sens du détail impressionnant. C'est une ballade dans une caverne sans lumière où les sons partent en échos dans le néant. De Fördolda Klangorna demande de la concentration, mais elle est tellement récompensée !

Le corbeau qu'on entendait dans Skalder från Urskogens Dunkla Mystik prend son envol dans Dunkla Klangor... (Kapitel I) et il fait savoir sa présence à grands renforts de croassements stridents, qui sont récurrents sur presque toutes les pistes — c'est une des performances les plus impressionnantes de Swartadauþuz ! Sur un plan plus large, c'est tout son black metal qui décolle : il est plus rapide, plus intense ; le synthé, qui n'est pas mis de côté, élargit le champ de vision. C'est superbe !

Revenant Marquis continues with the subterranean vocals on this album. Percussion sound on all tracks has a very large sound, especially the bass drum. Guitar is generally very clean. The more I listen, the more I get Xasthur vibes, but with a more rock and roll influence. Still very depressive and chaotic. A cool album!
